THE HERITAGE COLLECTION

A Spring Story

SERIES1

In my ongoing quest to slowly make my way through the mountain of vintage textiles I’ve collected for the past 25 years I made the decision earlier this year to focus mostly on creating one-of-a-kind journals to add to The Heritage Collection.

I used vintage French silk velvet for the book spines paired with a beautiful selection of vintage shawls from northern Pakistan, mainly Kashmir and Swat valley, this collection is my most colourful to date. I never set out with any preconceived ideas of how a collection is going to look, like all good ideas it came to me in a moment of stillness while I was sat on our garden bench observing springtime which is currently on full display. The colours and shapes of the tulips growing in our garden reminded me of one particular hand embroidered shawl with stylised florals. After weeks of not knowing where to start, I finally set to work.

COLOURFUL COLLECTION TO DATE.

HAND BOUND SOFT BACK JOURNALS
